At least 98 percent of the Upper Great Miami Watershed lies in Ohio, but a small portion extends into eastern Randolph County, of which it drains about 20,000 acres. Dismal Creek and Greenville Creek are the "major" tributaries of this watershed in Indiana.

The Great Miami River joins the Ohio River just east of the Indiana-Ohio state line. The Ohio River flows into the Mississippi River, which discharges into the Gulf of Mexico.
