Conrad Savanna is a large oak savanna fragment bisected by County Road 700 North. The bulk of the preserve lies to the north of the road, but toward the west it straddles 700 North. There is no official trail, but if there’s been a controlled burn in the last few years, the understory should be relatively open, which makes getting around fairly easy. Oaks dominate, with sassafras and bracken in the understory, though the area south of the road seems to exhibit somewhat more diversity in its mix of trees.
